Rooted Dance presents -- Reflections: Ecstatic Dance

Event is from 4:00p- 8:00p on Sept 17th 2022 located at a secluded site at Lincoln Woods State Park in Lincoln, RI.

Ecstatic dance is a form of expression that is done in a group setting with intention of connecting to the body and relaxing the mind. There is evidence of ecstatic dance practices going back to the beginning of mankind, but has now popularized in Western culture since the early 2000's. This activity is done barefoot and there is no talking or cellphone use during the ecstatic dance portion to ensure connection with the Earth and the music. 

Feel free to dance, sit, stretch, observe, or just hang out and enjoy the music! Please practice consent by using body language to decide whether another person wants to dance with you or not. No one is perfect and reading body language is a skill that can be strengthened! If you are unsure or their eyes are closed then assume the person is saying no.

We will start off with a meditation, followed by an hour long devoted yoga group session led by the wonderous Tori Cummings. She will have many tricks and tips to share!

Last, but not least, our musically talented friends White Hawke and Rahlune will be taking the stage for a unique hour and a half long set! Come check out their unique styles blend together in real time!
